As much as I struggle to GET Skye sleeping the night, we have the opposite trouble with Christian. He is such a deep sleeper that it is near impossible to wake him up. A fire alarm could go off and he would sleep through it.
When I do have to wake him up…he’s not happy with me.
Although there is no way to get my little hibernating bear happy to have his sleep interrupted, I have developed a method that at least makes it clear that I’m not trying to be mean. It works quite well when combined with opening the blinds and a gentle nudges.
Wake Up Sleepyhead Essential Oil Spray
20 drops Peppermint or Lavender (See note)
20 drops Sweet Orange
2 tablespoons Witch Hazel
1 cup filtered water
Place ingredients in a glass spray bottle. Shake well before using. Spray into the air to start the day off right!
****Peppermint should be used only with children over 5. Be sure that you don’t spray it close enough to them that you get the spray in their eyes.
The Quality of The Essential Oils You Use Matters!
I’ve tried most every essential oil company out there, and I am thrilled to recommend Plant Therapy as my preferred company!
After looking closely at the quality, purity, and ethics of so many companies, I’ve fallen in love with both the company and their oils. They are serious about safety and go to great lengths to test every single batch to ensure purity!
