It is estimated that manufacturers use 80,000 different chemicals in products we use in our home every day. The reality is that because few of these products have ever been well tested, we really don't know the long term health risks that many of them present.
What we do know is that there is ever increasing documentation that links environmental toxins to contributing to everything from autoimmune disease to cancer, autism, asthma and reproductive issues. There is even some research that connected obesity to environmental toxins found in things like hand sanitizers and skin cream.
One of the first things I did when I found out I had Hashimoto's is figure out how I could reduce the toxins in my home. I started ditching the chemicals and making my own cleaners. I have to tell you - I couldn't be happier with the decision. Not only do I feel better about the floor Skye is crawling on - and sadly sometimes eating off of - my home always smells amazing.
Here is one of my favorite kitchen cleaners!
The Quality of The Essential Oils You Use Matters!
After looking closely at the quality, purity, and ethics of so many companies, I've fallen in love with both the company and their oils. They have a large line of organic oils and are serious about safety. Every single batch is tested to ensure purity!
