This DIY Hand Sanitizer is a great natural alternative to tradition hand sanitizers, which have been shown to cause numerous problems in the body.
DIY Sanitizing Hand Gel with Essential Oils

For a long time, I thought I was doing the right thing by always having hand sanitizer in my purse for the kids. This was especially true when the boys were small and still putting their hands in their mouths all the time.

Since then, I've learned that this wasn't such a good idea. Commercial hand sanitizers are loaded with chemical junk. Among the. is Triclosan, one of the most important chemicals you want to rid your home of.

Triclosan is used for its antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. Research has shown that even at low levels, it can be absorbed through the skin and enter the bloodstream. Sadly, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the chemical appears in the urine of approximately 75% of the population. Research has linked Triclosan to thyroid dysfunction (a major concern for me), fetal development issues and reduced immune-system function. Doesn't it seem crazy to use a product to stay healthy that actually may interfere with your immune system? (Source: Mother Earth Living)

Did you know that when you touch a paper receipt after using conventional hand sanitizer that you body absorbs 185 times the amount of BPA than it would otherwise.   This is because hand sanitizers break down the skin’s protein layer which opens the door to unwanted substances.  BPA is an endocrine disruptor.  This level of exposure has been linked to obesity, heart disease, and diabetes. (Source: PLOSOne)

These days - especially around the holiday's when it seems everyone is sick - I keep this DIY Sanitizing Hand Gel on hand. It's easy to make and thanks to the Protective Blend, smells amazing!

The Quality of The Essential Oils You Use Matters!

After looking closely at the quality, purity, and ethics of so many companies, I've fallen in love with both the company and their oils. They have a large line of organic oils and are serious about safety. Every single batch is tested to ensure purity!
