I mentioned last week that lately I’ve been a bit stressed, anxious and generally out of sorts.
I’ve realized that I’ve been so focused on taking care of everyone else that I’ve been completely neglecting self-care. This includes doing anything for fun, taking the time to reflect and even the basics like getting a hair cut.
The result is anxiety that I struggle to escape. I can best describe it as a near constant feeling that there is something twisting in my back. I look at my to-do list and get completely overwhelmed. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing; I feel like there is something else I also need to be doing at that moment.
I know most every mom struggles with overwhelm from time to time.
Although I am so tired that I’m tempted just to give into it, eat chocolate all day and wait for this season of life to pass, I know that won’t solve anything. I’ve added some supplements to my routine; I’m trying to balance my diet with quality protein and lots of veggies; I’m going to be taking some downtime and reading a novel this weekend, and I’m also breaking out my essential oils to help manage depression and my moods.

Find Your Zen Inhaler Blend
5 drops Lavender
5 drops Roman Chamomile
3 drops Clary Sage
2 drops Ylang Ylang
Place oils in a small bowl and add cotton part of the inhaler. Using tweezers, rotate until the cotton is saturated.
Pick up one end with the tweezers and place in the plastic inhaler container. Cover with the “butt”.
