Can you believe it is almost September?
Back to School Madness, Football Season….and before you know it shopping for the holidays.
This year, I’ve got a great gift idea for any hard to shop for person that has a birthday coming up or for the holidays. It’s unique and something they aren’t likely to have – a hand crafted wooden watch by JORD.
I was lucky enough to be offered to try a JORD watch, and I’ve got to say that though I could rely on my iPad to know what time it is, I’m loving the look.
If you’ve never heard of JORD (I hadn’t) they are a fairly young company that creates some pretty amazing hand-crafted watches. The company values efficiency, sustainability and experiential living and it shows in their products. As a Mom of 3, I was surprised that a watch would make me feel…well, at least a little bit trendy since it isn’t something you see every day.
I love that there are so many different looks, thanks to all the different woods and face colors they use. Among the woods used are are ebony, koa, purpleheart, zebrawood, rosewood, sandalwood, maple and bamboo.
I got the Ely series made of Green Sandalwood and Maple.
Features of the JORD Ely Series:
- Scratch-Resistant Mineral Glass
- Deployment Buckle with Push Buttons
- Date Window
- @idth: 37mm
- Thickness: 11mm
- Lug ends: 45mm
- Band Thickness: 21mm
- Band Length: 200 mm
Because natural products are such a draw to me, this watch felt very “me” – much more so than any watch made of metal ever wood. While I love the Ely Series, I really have my eye the Cora Series in Zebrawood & Turquoise.
In case you are wondering, these watches are very durable. With toddler chasing and all the cooking I do you would think it would be banged up by now but that isn’t the case.
