This Roasted Garlic and Goat Cheese Cauliflower Mash is a delicious alternative to mashed potatoes. Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Low Carb, Primal
It was the early 90s when I fell in love with cooking.
Between the time I graduated from high school and the time I graduated from college, I evolved from thinking that cooking a box of macaroni and cheese was a culinary achievement, to pouring over cooking magazines and dreaming of all the dishes I would one day create.
I spent hours at bookstores looking at cookbooks.
I also spent hours drooling over all the things I'd outfit my kitchen with..when I finally had one.
Yes, it is true. Some girls like shoes. Even in my early 20s, my thing was kitchen appliances and cookware.
One brand I spent a lot of time dreaming about was Braun.
I've always been hard on appliances and I valued their reputation for durability. But really, it was the simple, intuitive designs that drew me in.
I was so excited to hear that the Braun Kitchen Collection is coming back to the North American market this June for the first time since 2008. To prepare for the launch, Braun spent years doing research around the North American cooking enthusiasts.

Their mission: to uncover kitchen issues and design the new line to solve those problems.
The line still has all the reliability and high quality standards we have come to expect from Braun, combined with an updated sophisticated design.
They have leveraged technology from outside the kitchen and are using it to improve our cooking experience. As an example, they’ve designed their products to work well with how we intuitively read. The display features are listed in importance and frequency of use from left to right - just like we read a book.
A feature from real life that I love - the hand blender boasts the worlds first Smart Speed technology, borrowing cues from a car’s acceleration. You get more power to the blender the more you squeeze the trigger.
(For some reason this excites Alex, my oldest, to no end.)
I was so inspired after unpacking my new Braun appliances, that I couldn’t wait to hit the kitchen! It was time for dinner and I felt the urge to create something…unexpected.
I don’t know about you, but too often our weekly meals become an exercise in the mundane. If I’m not creating for the blog, I make the same things over and over again. With my new Braun appliances making things easier, I knew it would be fun to try something new.
The boys had been asking for Mashed Potatoes for weeks. I love potatoes, but I don’t always love how they make me feel, so I decided to mix things up and make a Cauliflower Mash. And not just any Cauliflower Mash - I added roasted garlic and goat cheese.
Can I get a yum? Oh this is not the cauliflower I grew up on. This is without a doubt crave-worthy cauliflower!
Best of all it was so simple, thanks to the Braun Hand Blender and its mashing attachment.
The perfect combination with Salisbury Steak! A weeknight meal that is anything but mundane.

Thanks so much! I love shoes...but had foot surgery in High School and have always been limited in what I could wear. These days, I pretty much stick to flip flops. 🙂

These sound super yum. When I make mashed potatoes, I always make half of them out of cauliflower - the kids don't even know 😉

I've always said that you can never have too much shoes and I still think I don't have enough. I had no idea that Braun had home appliances, I've always known them for their shaving stuff because my husband owns a Braun shaver. The next time I'm in the market for appliances I'll have to check them out.

Cauliflower is one of the world's most versatile foods. Zucchini too. There's so much you can do with both. Love love my immersion blender. Yes, even more than shoes.

Oh my goodness. This sounds absolutely delectable. I love mashed cauliflower as an alternative to mashed potatoes. Would never think to add goat cheese.

Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe! In college I was sort of 'forced' to learn how to cook so I can budget my monthly allowance for food. When I got married that's when I started to love it!

I love whipped cauliflower! I like it when it's roasted then whipped. I can even get my hubby to eat it if it's mixed with potato!

These look interesting. However, I don't think I could ever give up my regular mashed potatoes or cheesy mashed potatoes or loaded mashed potatoes.
