Gluten Free Margherita Sandwiches

These Gluten Free Margherita Sandwiches are an easy to make and delicious weeknight meal that the whole family will love!

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • In a small bowl, combine olive oil, Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Brush the oil mixture on one side of the bread. Flip the bread over. Put ½ tablespoon of tomato basil sauce on the other side of the bread. Top with four slices of the bread with mozzarella cheese, tomato, basil and Balsamic Vinegar. Place remaining bread on top, oil side up.
  • Grill for about 5 minutes per side, until the cheese is melted in the outside is crusty and brown. Serve warm.

Notes

The balsamic vinegar is completely optional. If you decide to use it, I recommend a good quality that is nice and thick! Alternatively, you could also you a balsamic reduction or balsamic syrup.
