Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup half and half
  • ½ cup unsalted butter divided
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 2 bananas peeled and sliced
  • ½ cup pecans toasted and chopped

Instructions

  • Heat a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sugar, half and half, ¼ cup of butter, salt and cinnamon.
  • Cook, stirring often, for 4 to 6 minutes, or until the mixture is slightly thickened.
  • Remove from the heat, and stir in the vanilla and remaining butter. Whisk for 1 minute or until smooth.
  • Gently stir in the bananas and pecans. Serve warm with whipped cream if desired.
