25-Minute Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Breast

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sea salt or kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce divided
  • Cooking spray or oil and a brush

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken dry and pound to an even thickness.
  • In a small bowl, combine the salt, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  • Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the chicken. If desired, you can let the chicken sit in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400° F.
  • Brush both sides of the chicken with avocado oil.
  • Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and cook for 7 minutes.
  • Flip, and cook for another 7 to 8 minutes, or until the internal temperature registers 155° F.
  • Brush the chicken well with about ½ of the BBQ sauce.
  • Return the chicken to the air fryer and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, until the internal temperature registers 160° F
  • Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with the remaining BBQ sauce.
