Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour 7.7 ounces or 219 grams
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1 ¼ sticks unsalted butter 10 tablespoons; at room temperature
  • ¾ cup sugar 5.3 ounces or 150 grams
  • 1 large egg at room temparature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Place the cream cheese and butter in the bowl of your stand mixer.  Beat, over medium speed, for 2 minutes, until smooth.
  • Add the sugar, eggs and vanilla and beat until incorporated.
  • Add the flour mixture and mix until just combined.  Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Cover the dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Position the rack in the center of the oven. Preheat your oven to 350 °F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Use a cookie scoop to scoop to measure out the cookies and then roll into balls.  Use your hands to flatted the balls, adding a few more chocolate chips on top if you want.
  • Bake for 13 to 16 minutes, rotating the tray halfway through. Repeat with the second tray.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Use a spatula to transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
