Perfectly Seasoned Instant Pot Quinoa (25 Minutes!)

This easy Instant Pot quinoa recipe makes perfectly fluffy quinoa in under 30 minutes! Learn how to season quinoa simply with fresh garlic and onion for flavorful and delicious quinoa every time.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups quinoa
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or other high-heat oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 ½ cups vegetable broth
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Soak quinoa in water for one hour.
  • Place in a fine metal strainer. Rinse with cool water for three to five minutes, until the water runs clear.
  • Turn your instant pot to sauté.
  • Add oil and diced onion. Cook for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add garlic and rinsed quinoa. Saute for 5 minutes, stirring often.
  • Add vegetable broth and salt and pepper to the Instant Pot and place the lid on the pot. (Don't forget to make sure that your Instant Pot is NOT set to vent.)
  • Cook on high pressure for 1 minute.
  • Allow pressure to release naturally. (About 10 minutes.)
  • Carefully remove lid and fluff!

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 5 days.
You can keep cooked quinoa in the freezer for about 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat in the microwave or on the stove top.
