Garlic Knots with Pizza Dough are an everyday treat that is as fun to make as it is to eat. By using pizza dough, we simplify the process of making homemade garlic knots, making this recipe weeknight-friendly. Whether you’re planning a cozy family dinner or looking for something crave-worthy to serve to friends, this dish delivers.

Garlic Knots have been a family favorite in my kitchen for as long as I can remember.
Using pizza dough as a base makes the process easy and fun, transforming a simple staple into something spectacular
I like serving this garlic knot recipe with pizza dough and recipes like vegetarian lasagna, baked spaghetti, and stuffed shells. It also works great with a meaty main like hanger steak.
It is a surefire way to bring happy smiles to my dinner table.

Ingredients
- Pizza dough: You can buy store-bought dough, use my bread machine pizza dough recipe, or use my gluten-free pizza dough. My quinoa pizza dough could even add a punch of wholesomeness to the menu.
- Butter: I like to use unsalted butter when making garlic butter to control the salt level better. If you only have salted butter, just ensure you taste it before finishing with additional flaky salt. Olive oil could be used to make this dairy-free.
- Minced garlic: Freshly minced garlic has a pungent, aromatic flavor that makes it irresistibly garlicky. You can use garlic powder instead, but it won’t be quite the same.
- Dried Italian seasoning: I use a pre-made blend of dried herbs. You could make your own with parsley, oregano, basil, thyme, and rosemary.
- Flaky salt: Use Maldon sea salt or something similar.
Tips and Tricks
- Use room-temperature dough for easier handling.
- Flour your work surface to prevent the dough from sticking.
- Letting the knots rise in a warm spot makes them fluffy and light. If your oven has a proofing setting, that works well.
- Add red pepper flakes and some finely grated parmesan cheese to the melted butter mixture for even more flavor.
- Serve the garlic knots warm for the best texture and taste experience.
- If you like a stronger garlic flavor, increase the garlic in the butter mixture to your preference.
- You can store leftovers in the freezer for up to a month. After freezing, thaw in the refrigerator overnight. I like to lift up leftovers by serving them with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
