Let's Talk Ingredients
For this marinade for broccoli, I keep things simple and flavorful.
Pre-chopped broccoli makes marinating broccoli fast and easy. Use a good extra-virgin olive oil as the base, and bring out your best balsamic vinegar. Dijon mustard adds a little depth, though a grainy brown mustard works too.
I usually add a pinch of sugar, but honey gives the marinade a slightly different, warmer sweetness which I liked when I tested it. Garlic salt is my go-to; if you’re out, just mix sea salt with a little garlic powder.
Step by Step Instructions

Tips and Tricks
- Don't Skimp the Marinating Time: Let the broccoli marinate for at least 24 hours to ensure maximum flavor.
- Ingredient Swaps: If you're out of balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar or lemon juice can substitute. You could also add red onion, cherry tomatoes, or bell pepper.
- Serving Suggestions: Serve the marinated broccoli as a side to a simple roasted chicken, beef, or pork, or toss it into a salad for added crunch and flavor.
- Storage Advice: To maintain freshness and taste, store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
