Ninja Creami Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream is a crowd-pleasing make-ahead dessert that requires barely any work. This creamy treat comes together in less than 10 minutes of hands-on time and delivers a decadently creamy texture that will wow your friends and family. It is a satisfying treat that is the perfect ending to any meal.

In my kitchen, the Ninja Creami has become an absolute go-to for creating creamy, dreamy ice creams with ease.
From pineapple sorbet to coffee ice cream, my Ninja Creami recipes are a surefire hit with the family.
This mint chocolate chip variation quickly became a family favorite, thanks to its vibrant minty flavor and perfectly crunchy chocolate bits. Making this ice cream at home ensures that every scoop is bursting with fresh, bright flavors that are unapologetically delicious.
The only problem with this recipe is that once you try it, you will not go back to store-bought!

Ingredients
- Half and Half: A blend of whole milk and heavy cream could also be used. For a dairy-free option, I like oat milk or canned coconut milk.
- Sugar: Monk fruit or allulose work as sugar-free options, but I don’t recommend Swerve or any blend with erythritol because they crystalize when frozen.
- Mint Extract: Be aware that peppermint extract is much stronger than mint extract, so adjust accordingly.
- Vanilla Extract: Optional, but recommended.
- Salt: I like sea salt, but any fine salt works.
- Green Food Coloring (optional): Gives the ice cream its classic green hue, but feel free to omit if you prefer a natural look.
- Chopped Chocolate or Mini Chocolate Chips: Mini chocolate chips make this easy, but chopped chocolate provides a lovely rustic texture.
Tips and Tricks
- Make-Ahead Tip: One of the best things about the Creami is that you can make the pints ahead of time and have them ready to go in your freezer. I recommend waiting to churn the ice cream until just before serving rather than processing and then storing. This yields the best texture.
- Freeze Time: Allow the mixture to freeze for a full 24 hours in the Ninja Creami pint container. This ensures it’s solid enough for the machine to process effectively.
- Customize Your Flavor: Adjust the mint extract to your taste preference. I recommend tasting it and adding up to a ½ teaspoon more if you want a stronger mint flavor.
- Storage: If not serving this mint chocolate chip ice cream recipe immediately, store in the Creami pint. I recommend that you process the re-spin cycle just before serving.
- Clean Up: All of the parts of your Creami are dishwasher safe (top rack only), except for the part with the dual drive motor. I recommend an extra hand washing of the lid, and specifically pulling the lever back on the lid and giving it a good rinse to avoid milk fermenting inside the lid.
